Nurturing touch is an essential pillar of Ayurvedic postpartum care.

Abhyanga is a deeply grounding Ayurvedic practice using warm herbal oils applied in long, flowing strokes. This restorative bodywork session helps soothe the nervous system, ease tension, support circulation and lactation, and invite deep rest during the Sacred Window after birth and beyond.

Abhyanga is beneficial in all stages of life, but it is an especially important piece of traditional Ayurvedic postpartum care. After pregnancy and birth, the elements of air and ether are heightened, and mothers may feel the tenderness and vulnerability of their transition into new parenthood. Applying oil with intention is a profoundly effective way to bring warmth and steadiness into a mother’s healing body.

My intention is to nourish the birther’s body, heart, and mind through deeply restorative care. For those experiencing dryness, anxiety, slow digestion, tension, or achiness, abhyanga can be a beautifully uplifting practice to help you feel held and replenished throughout your motherhood journey.

Your session may also include gentle lymphatic drainage to support the body’s natural process of reducing swelling, fluid retention, and breast engorgement after birth. Time for breathwork and attunement to your unique body’s needs is woven into each session.

I bring the warmth of hands-on bodywork to the comfort of your home within a 40 mile radius of Groton, MA.

Additional options:
Lymphatic Drainage - promotes movement of lymph fluid to reduce swelling and engorgement
Belly Wrapping - provides support, warmth, and comfort using Mexican gauze or rebozo wrap
Infant Abhyanga - demo of baby massage
